Our Projects
Throughout 2026, the Friars Point Economic Development Association will lead and support a variety of projects designed to revitalize the community, strengthen the local economy, and improve the quality of life for residents. These projects represent our commitment to restoring the rich history of Friars Point while building a modern foundation for future growth.
During this year, the association will focus on restoring historic buildings and landmarks that reflect the cultural heritage of the Mississippi Delta. Many of these structures have been part of the town for generations, and our efforts will bring them back to life through renovation, preservation, and adaptive reuse for businesses, community centers, and tourism attractions.

Friars Point Projects
The Friars Point Economic Development Association has a priority of restoring the historical buildings in downtown Friars Point on Second Street. These buildings shaped the the overall progress of our city and each building has a story to tell.
Friars Point Negro Cemetary Project is a historical burial site. It serves as the final resting place for many African Americans from the region, some of whom were formerly enslaved or descendants of enslaved individuals. The cemetary is a link to families we never knew, a source of history, and tells a great deal about ourselves culturally and socially.
